Description

AIMS@JCU is a joint venture between James Cook University and the Australian Institute of Marine Sciences, two of the world's most eminent tropical marine research institutions, both based in Townsville.

Scholarship recipients will be jointly supervised by scientists from both institutions, and will undertake projects based in one of the three programs: Marine Aquaculture, Coastal Processes, Stress in Tropical Marine Systems.

The trustees of the AFUW Inc. Education Trust invite applications for the biennial Georgina Sweet Fellowship to support a woman postgraduate to undertake at an Australian university advanced post-first degree study or research in any field.

[AUSTRALIA] AFUW Freda Bage Fellowship

Description

The fellowships are for full-time study and are tenable at any university or approved institution. The number awarded each year depends on the funds available. The fellowship is not tenable at the institution through which the applicant obtained her first degree. If an award is made to an Australian citizen, the fellowship is also tenable overseas. The Fellowship Fund may award at least one fellowship (either The Freda Bage Fellowship or The Commemorative Fellowship) to a person who plans to study at the University of Queensland. Studies must commence by September in the year of award.

Extra Details: The value of the fellowship is equivalent to an Australian Postgraduate Award plus 10 per cent ($22,007 per year in 2008). The stipend is paid twice annually.
