QUT offers a number of scholarships to make study in Australia more affordable for international students. An international student is anyone who is not a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or New Zealand. As scholarship places are limited, competition is strong and in most cases is decided on academic merit. Most of these scholarships are offered to students starting a new course at QUT. The first step in being considered for any scholarship at QUT is to make application for admission to a course on an F or FR form International

application for admission: http://www.international.qut.edu.au/apply/howtoapply/submitting/index.jsp.If you are eligible to enter your selected course, you will receive a letter of offer for admission. Once you have a letter of offer from QUT you are eligible for consideration for the various scholarships. The application process for each scholarship is different and varies from concurrent consideration in the admission process to separate application to the faculty. Applicants are advised to read through the applicable admission form, F or FR, and to follow the application directions on the applicable faculty or scholarship website to make sure they are considered for available scholarship.

[Australia] AusAID's Australian Leadership Award Scholarship Intake for 2009

Applications for ALAS 2009 open next week on Tuesday 01 April 2008 and closes on 30 June 2008.

Please find attached the PDF of the updated ALAS brochure. We would appreciate if you can pass on this electronic copy to your institution's marketing and international recruitment departments and other staff you feel are appropriate staff, who maybe interested in the ALAS program.
When distributing this brochure to potential scholarship applicants, it is important to remember that the ALA Scholarship is assessed on a competitive basis taking into account the applicants previous academic achievement, clearly demonstrated leadership qualities and proposed study programs that relate to strengthening the development capacity of their countries. Applicants must come from countries listed in the brochure. ALAS is targeted towards potential scholars who have already demonstrated a high level of personal and academic achievement.
There is a significant amount of manual application processing involved in assessing the scholarship applications, so please be targeted in your marketing of this scholarship. We anticipate around 150 scholarships will be awarded in 2009 for study at Masters and Doctoral level
AusAID also has a limited number of hard copies of the brochure available to send to your institutions marketing departments for use at international education forums, seminars and so on. If your marketing/international student recruitment areas are interested in obtaining some hard copies, please have them respond to the ALA Mail Box: ala@ausaid.gov.au with their mailing address and contact details.
Finally, Can you also distribute this PDF brochure to all your current ALAS scholars, as many of them expressed interest in obtaining a copy to pass on to friends and colleagues back at home.
Your assistance in promoting the ALAS program will ensure we are able to recruit the best possible applicants to study at your institutions in 2009
Kind regards
For more information please see ALA Team http://www.ausaid.gov.au/
