Description

The Commemorative Fellowship, offered by the Queensland branch of the Australian Federation of University Women, is open to all women graduates of a university or recognised tertiary institution from any country. The fellowship is for full-time study.

A final typewritten report is required at completion of the Fellowship and should include information about any publications arising from the funded study.

Extra Details: The value of the fellowship is equivalent to an Australian Postgraduate Award plus 10 per cent ($22,469 in 2009). The stipend is paid in 2 parts: half at the commencement of the fellowship's tenure and half after 6 months of tenure. The second stipend payment is subject to satisfactory progress as indicated by a progress report from the fellowship recipient after 6 months of tenure.

General information

Fellowships are open to women scholars who: are graduates of a recognised tertiary institution from any country who are intending to take up or continue postgraduate studies at a recognised tertiary institution in Queensland, Australia, or; have graduated at a recognised tertiary institution in Queensland and are intending to take up or continue postgraduate studies at a recognised tertiary institution elsewhere. Women graduates who will be on full-time salaries; fully paid study or other leave; or Australian Postgraduate Awards or similar scholarships during the tenure of the fellowship, are not eligible to apply. If an award is made to an Australian citizen, the fellowship is also tenable overseas.
