Molecular and Microbial Sciences PhD Scholarship

Scholarship Description
The School of Molecular and Microbial Sciences (SMMS) is a distinguished multidisciplinary school for teaching and research that encompasses the traditional academic disciplines of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Parasitology. An opportunity exists for highly motivated PhD students to join a multidisciplinary team of chemists and biochemists to synthesize and rationally design novel classes of anti-osteoporotic drugs. Applicants should possess an Honours degree (Honours Class I or IIA) and be eligible to enrol in a PhD program at UQ. Applicants with a background in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics or a related field will be considered. Experience in chemical synthesis, molecular biology techniques, or protein expression and purification is desirable.

Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD20427 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES or CHEMICAL SCIENCES.
